Former Premier League champions Leicester City want to sign midfielder Youri Tielemans on a permanent deal this summer.
This is according to the publication from the English news outlet Daily Star.
It was revealed that Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has already told the club to turn the player’s loan deal into a permanent transfer.
Youri Tielemans is on loan at the King Power Stadium from struggling French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco.
The young Belgian international midfielder was part of the AS Monaco team that struggled badly during the first half of the season and the scramble for points has continued till the end of the season.
AS Monaco are a place clear of the relegation zone on the French Ligue 1 table by virtue of goal difference.
Youri Tielemans was initially linked with both Manchester United and Arsenal during the winter transfer window before his loan move to the Foxes.
Leicester City will need at least £40m for the player to join them permanently this summer according to recent reports.
The player talked about his future in a recent interview monitored by Goal.
According to Tielemans, he has no idea where his future lies at the moment but he will return to Monaco when his loan deal at Leicester City expires.
