Reward For Hardwork: Ex-Arsenal Striker Celebrates Street Named After Him

Istanbul Basaksehir striker Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor couldn’t hide his joy after a street was named after him in his native Togo.
The former Arsenal star took to his official Instagram page to celebrate the new development as he expressed his delight at a street being named after him.
According to him, he’s finding it hard to believe his present status considering the fact that he struggled to have a roof over his head while growing up.
The 2008 African Footballer of the Year narrated how the thought of achieving great things for his people in Togo kept him going throughout his football career.
Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor also pointed out that he was stunned by the gesture of naming a street after him and that he will cherish the moment for the rest of his life.
The Togolese striker played for Premier League giants Arsenal for over three years before leaving the club for Premier League champions Manchester City in a controversial manner.
Adebayor played for Arsenal between January 2006 when he joined them from French club AS Monaco till the summer of 2009.
He was an Arsenal player when he won the 2008 African Footballer of the Year Award.
The lanky striker also played for clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid.
