It has been noted that any decision by the Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona to have Brazilian international Philippe Coutinho sold will affect his former team Liverpool financially.
According to reports, the English Premier League contenders will lose £17 million as soon as Barcelona successfully have Philippe Coutinho sold in this summer transfer window.
Philippe Coutinho has been in the news for a couple of weeks with reports claiming that he could be sold at the end of the season after it was observed that he did not receive the needed attention and playing time in the team.
It suggested that Philippe Coutinho is not happy at Barcelona since his big-money move to the Spanish side as he was unable to deliver the same performance as at Liverpool.
However, Barcelona only paid £106 million from the £142 million agreed between the two teams and there was an understanding that the remaining would be paid installmentaly on differed terms.
It was agreed that Liverpool will earn £4.4 million if Barcelona won the Champions League and another 4.4 if they successfully qualify for the tournament and that has been achieved and fulfilled.
The same £4.4 million was paid to Liverpool when Philippe Coutinho earned 25 appearances while another £17 million is to be paid if he reaches 100 appearances and that seems to be far from being achieved.
