The English Premier League giants must have to fight big to be able to secure the signature of their long term target and Portuguese outfit Benfica playmaker Joao Felix as soon as the summer transfer window is opened.
Liverpool have been in the pursuit of Joao Felix since the last January winter transfer window but they have been unable to win his signature because of the reluctance of the club to release him.
It is now claimed that Benfica are still interested in having the star player at the club in the coming season and they seek to achieve that by handing him a new contract that will keep him much longer at the club.
Joao Felix has been a wonder in the Portuguese league with his impressive performances so far this season. He has been able to deliver 18 goals and provided 11 assists in 41 appearances for his side to have gotten so much attention from the top European side.
However, the Reds team are not alone in the chase of Joao Felix as Man United are also keen to land the star player who has a release clause of £120 million as soon as the summer transfer window is opened.
