It will no longer be a free run for English Premier League outfit Liverpool in the chase of German Bundesliga outfit Bayern Leverkusen striker Julian Brandt as they are now joined by the Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
The manager Jurgen Klopp side were earlier leading in the race to sign the star forward but they were joined along the line by Juventus who are also keen on Julian Brandt.
Julian Brandt has been impressive in the German Bundesliga and he is one of the best the league can boast of. His last game for Leverkusen had him play an important role in their 6-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
The star player is known for the wing position but he has been tactically flexible enough to also play as a leading striker which is the right taste for the German boss at the Anfield.
Julian Brandt has got a release clause of £25 million which is also affordable but landing him will not come easy as Goal.com list Juventus and serious competitors for the star player as they hope to rebuild their team.
However, the Reds team must be able to stand right in their bid and present a better plan for the star player to be able to win his signature.
Sarri Down With Sickness Ahead Of Serie A Opener
New Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri has been struck down with sickness ahead of the Italian Serie A opener with Parma this weekend.
The former Chelsea manager is down with flu as confirmed via a statement from the official website of Juventus earlier today.
Sarri was named the Juventus manager this summer.
He has a three-year contract at Juventus until the end of the 2021/22 season and the Italian tactician will earn £6.1m at the club.
Juventus have won the last eight league titles in the Italian top flight and a month league title will be the target for Maurizio Sarri and his players.
In addition, Sarri and Juventus are keen to end their long wait for the Champions League title this season.
Juventus are yet to win the trophy in 23 years and counting.
The Italians have reached two finals in the last four years and they are one of the favourites to win this year’s edition alongside the likes of Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona and Premier League champions Manchester City.
Maurizio Sarri spent just one season as the Chelsea manager and it ended with the Europa League title made possible by the 4-1 win over London rivals Arsenal in their final clash last season.
Arsenal Owners Set League Title Target For Unai Emery
Arsenal director Josh Kroenke has revealed that the aim of the club is to return to Champions League football and also win the league title for the first time in 15 years.
The Gunners have not won the league title since the 2003/04 when the North London giants went through the season without a single defeat.
That Arsenal squad is known as the Invincibles and it was made possible by legendary Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
The Frenchman was the Arsenal manager for over two decades before he left the job last summer and was replaced by current boss Unai Emery.
Josh Kroenke is the son of Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke and he spoke to BBC Sport about the plans in place to enable the club return to the top of English football.
According to him, the target for Arsenal is to win the league title in the coming years after almost two decades.
Arsenal have started the new Premier League season on a good note with two wins from two games.
The Gunners are one of just two teams to have won two from two league games this season.
Arsenal defeated Newcastle United 1-0 away from home in the first game before the 2-1 win over Burnley at home in the second league game of the season.
Solskjaer Criticised After Pogba’s Penalty Miss In Draw vs Wolves
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been heavily criticized following the penalty miss that overshadowed the league meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night.
Wolves hosted Manchester United at the Molineux on Monday night in a game which ended 1-1 but the major talking point was the penalty miss by Paul Pogba in the second half.
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince criticized the lack of managerial skills from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba deliberated on the penalty taker after the Red Devils were given a spot-kick in the second half.
Manchester United were given the penalty after Paul Pogba was fouled by Wolves skipper Conor Coady.
Paul Pogba had a brief discussion with Marcus Rashford before the former stepped up to take the penalty which was saved by Wolves skipper Rui Patricio.
Many Manchester United fans and pundits have blamed Solskjaer and Pogba after the penalty incident led to a draw rather than a win for the team.
They thought Marcus Rashford should have taken the penalty having scored on the opening day of the Premier League.
Rashford scored one of the goals from the penalty spot as Manchester United thrashed Chelsea 4-0 in the first game of the new Premier League season.
Carragher Confirms Three Arsenal Players That Will Cause Liverpool Problems
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has revealed three Arsenal players that will give his former club problems ahead of their Premier League meeting this weekend.
Liverpool will take on Arsenal at home in what’s one of the three games in the new Premier League season.
Arsenal and Liverpool are the last two standing as far as teams with a 100% record are concerned.
Jamie Carragher talked about the upcoming league clash between Liverpool and Arsenal on Monday Night Football (MNF) on Sky Sports.
According to him, the Liverpool defence will struggle to contain the Arsenal front of three, consisting of Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicholas Pepe.
Jamie Carragher said that Liverpool have been lucky this season as they have been shaky at the back mainly due to the high line employed by the Reds.
Liverpool won their first game of the season 4-1 against Norwich City at home before the Reds beat hosts Southampton 2-1 in their second league game of the season.
On their part, Arsenal began the season with the slim 1-0 away win over Newcastle United.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal of the game and also scored the winning goal for Arsenal in their last league match, a 2-1 victory over Burnley at the Emirates Stadium.
