Arsenal have German playmaker Mesut Ozil in their ranks at the moment but that has not stopped them from being linked with a player that has been dubbed the ‘next Ozil’.
The Gunners are said to be plotting a summer move for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz who has been in superb form for his German Bundesliga club this season.
The Daily Mirror claim that Kai Havertz could be the man to take the creative mantle from Mesut Ozil at Arsenal.
Ozil, 30, has had a lengthy cum subtle battle for Arsenal supremacy with Unai Emery since the Spaniard became the Gunners boss in the summer as a replacement for legendary manager Arsene Wenger.
Frenchman Wenger had left the Arsenal managerial job last season and he was swiftly replaced by the aforementioned Unai Emery.
The Arsenal manager has dropped Mesut Ozil from the squad on several occasions this term.
The German has only started one league game for Arsenal since the turn of the year and that was the 2-1 win over Welsh side Cardiff City.
Kai Havertz, 19, could replace him this summer if the Gunners manage to shift his £350,000 weekly wages off the wage bill.
Young German international Havertz has scored 11 goals in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen with eight of those goals coming in the league.
