Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has revealed that his former club won’t sign world-class players when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
In his recent interview monitored by Goal, Kevin Campbell told reporters that the Gunners would prioritize the signing of workaholics rather than world-class talents.
According to him, Arsenal manager Unai Emery will sign players that are ready to run themselves into the ground instead of the ones with quality.
Arsenal and Unai Emery will have to wait for the outcome of this season to determine the size of the transfer budget for new players.
Recent reports claimed that the Gunners boss have just £45m to spend on players this summer.
The said transfer budget will increase if Arsenal qualify for the Champions League and the £45m also excludes player sales.
The Gunners can secure Champions League football either by the league route or the Europa League route.
Winning the Europa League title will guarantee Champions League football next season.
Arsenal face a two-legged semifinal tie with Spanish side Valencia and will face the winner of the Eintracht Frankfurt/Chelsea tie in the final if they manage to scale through the Spanish test.
The Gunners can also qualify for Champions League football via a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Arsenal are in fifth spot just two points from fourth-placed Chelsea with two games left.
