The UEFA Champions League has reached its most interesting stage and the game between Barcelona and Liverpool is expected to produce the big drama ahead of the clash.

The Spanish La Liga outfit will welcome the English Premier League side to the Camp Nou on Wednesday the first leg to determine who plays at the finals of the most reverend European competition.

The last time Barcelona won the title was in 2016 but the Reds team have not won it in a much longer time which creates that hunger in them to want to deliver a win.

There is no doubt about the great form of both sides with terrifying attacks. Both teams can boast of Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah as their leading goal scorers which hint that the two defences would be very busy when they encounter.

Lionel Messi is much talked about than Mohammed Salah because the Egyptian international had not matched his last season’s performance, the Reds team have got a job of slowing down the Argentina international.

Holland central defender Virgil Van Dijk has been hailed for his impressive performance this season but he has got Messi’s test to pass if he must get the world commendation he deserves.

However, because the Reds team will be playing at home, they will want to do all they can to secure an away goal and concede less before they can stand the chance of finishing the job in the second leg at the Anfield.

Expected line up:

Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Alba, Pique, Lenglet, Roberto; Arthur, Busquets, Rakitic; Coutinho, Suarez, Messi

Liverpool: Allison; Robertson, Van Dijk, Matip, Alexander-Arnold; Fabinho, Henderson, Keita; Mane, Firmino, Salah

Prediction: Barcelona 2-1 Liverpool
