Premier League giants Manchester United could raid one of their rivals for a defensive reinforcement ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
This is because Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier is in favour of a move to Manchester United this summer according to the report from popular media outlet Metro.
The 28-year-old is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur later this year and he wants to join the Red Devils thus making them the favourites for his signature ahead of Italian Serie A giants Napoli.
Manchester United are in desperate need of a new right-back ahead of next season and Kieran Trippier is the number one candidate for the job.
The likes of Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young and Diogo Dalot are the right-back options for Manchester United this season but they have all struggled for form and fitness at various times.
Kieran Trippier has shown over the last year that he has the qualities needed to fill the right-back slot at Manchester United for the long haul.
Manchester United might need to contend with Napoli who have made a bid for him as reported by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
According to him, Spurs have rejected a first bid from Napoli for Trippier with the North London club holding out for double of the £15m transfer fee submitted for the player.
