One of the major targets of Merseyside outfit Liverpool ahead of the coming summer transfer window is Ajax star and Holland central defender Matthijs De Ligt as they hope he is able to switch over ahead of next season.
Matthijs De Ligt has got a perfect partnership with Virgil Van Dijk at the defence of the Holland national team which is the reason why manager Jurgen Klopp will seek to have that established at the Anfield.
The Reds team have got one of the best defence in the English Premier League and Europe in general but the German boss is of the opinion that more can be done to make his team stronger defensively as well as in other position.
Matthijs De Ligt has therefore hinted that he will not cost as much as the £65 million that was said my Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona for his Ajax teammate Frenkie De Jong not mining if he is a better player or not.
However, the Liverpool target noted that he is focused on winning for Ajax and will not dwell too much on the speculations surrounding his future.
The Spanish La Liga outfit are also keen on the signature of the star player but a concrete offer has not been submitted yet with the Reds team hoping that they can wrap up a deal as soon as the summer transfer window is opened.
