French Ligue 1 giants Lyon have contacted former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger over the vacant managerial post at the club.
The managerial job at Lyon is expected to be vacant this summer and the French club has already contacted Wenger about filling the post ahead of next season.
Current Lyon boss Bruno Genesio will leave the club this summer when his current deal expires.
The news of Lyon’s contact was revealed by trusted French news outlet L’Equipe.
Arsene Wenger is not the only former Premier League manager linked with a summer move to Lyon.
Former Manchester United and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has also been touted as the next manager at Lyon.
Ex-Arsenal manager Wenger has been without a job since he left the Gunners at the end of last season.
The 68-year-old Frenchman resigned from the managerial job at Arsenal last summer after the Gunners missed out on a Champions League spot for the second time in a row.
Wenger was swiftly replaced by Spanish tactician Unai Emery after almost 22 years in charge of the North London giants.
He came close to winning the Champions League for Arsenal in 2016 before they were beaten 2-1 by Spanish club Barcelona with ten men after Jens Lehmann was sent off in the opening minutes of the game.
