Tottenham Pull Out Of £70m Race To Sign Man Utd Target

North London giants Tottenham Hotspur have pulled out of the race to sign highly rated Ajax Amsterdam defender Matthijs De Ligt according to reports emanating from the media in the United Kingdom.

It was revealed that Spurs have withdrawn from the £70m race to sign the Dutch international centre back.

According to the specific publication from the Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur are resigned to the fact that the player wants to join Spanish champions Barcelona this summer.

Matthijs De Ligt is expected to follow Ajax Amsterdam teammate Frenkie De Jong to the Nou Camp when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

Frenkie De Jong will join Barcelona this summer after putting pen to paper with the Blaugrana during the winter transfer window.

Barcelona were said to have paid around €70m to sign the highly rated Dutch international midfielder.

De Ligt and De Jong are key players for Ajax Amsterdam in their amazing run to the semifinals of the Champions League.
