Manchester United midfielder Juan Manuel Mata won’t sign for fellow Premier League clubs like city rivals Manchester City and arch-rivals Liverpool according to his father.

In a chat with Spanish radio Carena SER, Mata snr revealed that it won’t be an ideal transfer to either Liverpool or Manchester City.

In one of his recent press conferences, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola stated that he tried to sign Mata at Barcelona while the player was still featuring for Spanish La Liga club Valencia.

Mata went on to join Chelsea from Valencia and he was part of the Blues team that stunned the world by winning the Champions League in 2012 at the expense of German champions Bayern Munich.

Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on penalties to lift the trophy for the first time.

The player signed for Manchester United in January 2014 in a deal believed to be around £37.1m.

His father also said that Manchester United have already offered him a new deal to prevent him from leaving the club.

Mata has few months left on his current contract at Old Trafford but it’s still unclear whether he will agree to continue his career with the Red Devils with just 13 league starts this season.

He has proposals from Champions League teams according to his father Mata snr.
