Watford manager Javi Gracia is adamant that star striker Troy Deeney should not have been sent off during their Premier League clash with North London giants Arsenal.
The Hornets played host to Arsenal at the Vicarage Road on Monday night and it was marred by the red card issued to Watford skipper Troy Deeney who felt hard done by following his clash with Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.
He was sent off for an elbow on Uruguayan international Torreira.
The red card incident happened after just 11 minutes and Javi Gracias believes that his captain should have been given a yellow card.
The Watford manager felt that the red card issues to his skipper was harsh on the part of centre referee Craig Pawson.
Watford had conceded a minute earlier before the Troy Deeney dismissal after Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang forced an error from the former Borussia Dortmund and Saint Etienne player.
Aubameyang has now scored 18 goals this term meaning that only two players have more goals than him as the race for the Golden Boot hots up.
Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah have 19 league goals this term.
Aguero, Salah and Aubameyang all have five games to play before the season ends.
