France international and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has backed Egyptian international and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah after a group of Blues fans linked him up with a bomber in a social media post.
According to the former Arsenal striker, those involved in the act should not be regarded as Chelsea fans because they do not represent the intention and values of the club.
More so, the Blues team have condemned the act as they described it as embarrassing to the team while a disciplinary decision has been taken against them as they have been banned from the stadium.
However, Olivier Giroud stated that the club is 100% behind Mohamed Salah and will do all they can to protect him ahead of their weekend clash.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have reacted to the discriminatory chants as they described it as disturbing, noting that the club will work with the Merseyside police to ascertain the fact about the footage.
Both teams will, therefore, meet at this weekend at the Anfield and it is expected that Mohamed Salah is protected ahead of the game while there will be adequate security at the match venue.
A win for Liverpool will have them well placed in the battle for the Premier League title against Man City.
