Emerging reports claim that Merseyside outfit Liverpool are already being linked with a move for former Manchester United No.7 Memphis Depay.

Memphis Depay joined the Red Devils as a replacement for Protuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo but he could not meet the expectations and was forced out after 18 months to join French Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.

Since he left the Old Trafford, Memphis Depay has been a transformed player and has been at his best.

This has therefore attracted Reds manager Jurgen Klopp who is reported to be considering a move for him ahead of the summer transfer window, The Daily Mirror claims.

However, it is claimed that Memphis Depay is now unhappy at the Ligue 1 side and is seeking a move away with suggestions that he would jump at any offer from Liverpool.

Depay has handed 14 goal assists in 29 league appearances this season but he has not been in the best goal scoring form.

Meanwhile, Liverpool were close securing the signature of Lyon captain in the last summer window but it failed within a flash.

Suggestions are that Memphis Depay could cost too high for Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp hinted that they will not be spending big in the coming summer.
