Newly appointed Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has promised to deliver continued success to the club after his permanent appointment was confirmed earlier on Thursday morning.
Manchester United announced that Solskjaer will be the club’s next permanent manager after Jose Mourinho and the Norwegian football tactician was handed a three-year contract.
On his appointment as the permanent manager at Old Trafford, Solskjaer thanked the players and staff as he pledged to bring continued success to Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was initially named the interim manager at Old Trafford in December and he has been able to achieve much within a short period of time.
Jose Mourinho was sacked in the last month of last year after leading the club to their worst start in the Premier League era and the Portuguese football manager was swiftly replaced by the aforementioned Solskjaer.
The former Red Devils striker went on to lead the club to a 12-game unbeaten run in the Premier League as well as a club-record 8-game winning run in all competitions.
Both runs came to an end when the Red Devils lost 2-0 to Arsenal earlier this month in a league match.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also led Manchester United to the last eight of the Champions League where they’ll face Spanish champions Barcelona for a place in the semifinals.
