Arsenal Plotting Free Transfer Move For 22-Year-Old Midfielder
Premier League giants Arsenal are plotting a free transfer move for one of the best players in the third tier of English football according to widespread reports emanating from the media in the United Kingdom.
The Daily Mirror claimed that the Gunners have an interest in Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo.
It was revealed that his contract will expire at the end of this season and that the player has already turned down the offer of an extension from the English League One club.
Charlton offered him half of his current wages for the new contract offered to him and it was understandably rejected by the young midfielder.
Joe Aribo is not only attracting interest from North London.
Portuguese giants Benfica and German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt are also said to be keen on a free transfer move for him as confirmed by the aforementioned publication.
Joe Aribo has scored six goals and also provided two assists for Charlton Athletic in 26 League One appearances as the London club chase promotion to the English Championship at the end of this campaign.
He could be the unpopular choice to replace Aaron Ramsey at Arsenal though the Gunners will have to pay a compensation fee for him because of his age.
Ramsey is expected to leave Arsenal for Juventus on a free transfer this summer having already signed a pre-contract contract with the Old Lady.
