Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has revealed the uncertainty surrounding his future at the North London club amidst the transfer rumours linking him with a move to Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Alderweireld told Sky Sports that his focus is on Tottenham Hotspur at the moment but he does not know what the future holds for him.
The Belgian international centre back initially had few months left on his Tottenham Hotspur contract but the club has exercised the extra year clause to take him till 2020 at the club.
With the extra year activated, the 30-year-old now has a £25m release clause in his Spurs contract.
The aforementioned release clause can be activated by potential suitors when the transfer window reopens this summer.
Premier League giants Manchester United are long-term admirers of Toby Alderweireld dating back to the start of the season.
Tottenham Hotspur were able to rebuff the interest of Manchester United in Toby Alderweireld.
The Red Devils still retain an interest in his but there are other defensive targets on their shortlist.
Italy-based defenders like Napoli centre back Kalidou Koulibaly, Inter Milan star Milan Skriniar and Fiorentina player Nikola Milenkovic have all been touted as possible defensive reinforcements for Manchester United.
Toby Alderweireld has played 38 times for Tottenham Hotspur this season.
First Chelsea player to join Sarri at Juventus revealed
Manager Maurizio Sarri has been announced as the head coach of Italian Serie A outfit Juventus after calling it quit at West London outfit Chelsea some days back.
The Blues boss only spent a season at Stamford Bridge and that was enough for him as he delivered the Europa League title for the club.
His stay at the club was full of controversies, including a poor relationship with the fans and inconsistent results.
However, there have been reports that a number of players will leave Chelsea to join Maurizio Sarri at Juventus and that seems to be happening already with reports that Jorginho could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.
Jorginho has got a relationship with the Italian boss as they both worked together at Napoli before switching to West London. More to that is the fact that the Italian was favoured by the manager in his team selection.
However, it is yet to be seen if Chelsea will let go of Jorginho, as they will not be able to sign a replacement this summer transfer, this is expected to affect the team in their bid to win titles in the coming season.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been attracting strong interest from both Spanish giants Real Madrid and Italian champions Juventus after his recent admission that he needs a new challenge after three years at the Theatre of Dreams.
Real Madrid are likely to sign Paul Pogba this summer ahead of Italian champions Juventus as they try to continue their spending spree this summer.
The Los Merengues have already spent over €300m on top talents this summer with the likes of Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy, Rodrygo Goes and Eder Militao moving to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu this summer and Paul Pogba could join them.
The €160m-rated midfielder has two years left on his Manchester United contract with the option of an extra year but the Red Devils are not willing to sell him this summer.
Manchester United re-signed Paul Pogba from Italian giants Juventus for a then world-record transfer fee in 2016.

Lampard reveals big transfer decision to Derby County players
Championship outfit Derby County players have now been informed by their manager Frank Lampard of his decision to quit the club to take over at Stamford Bridge as the new Chelsea manager.
Although he made it clear that an agreement is yet to be reached, there are hopes that talks would be concluded and he could leave for the right offers and terms.
The former midfielder has emerged as favourite to take over the job from Italian boss Maurizio Sarri who left the club to join Italian Serie A champions Juventus after just a year in charge.
A number of names have been linked with the job but the Blues legend seems to have been favoured after his feat with the Championship outfit.
However, assistant Gianfranco Zola could follow Sarri to the Old Lady as he would not seek to work under Frank Lampard at the club.
Meanwhile, Frank Lampard will face his first challenge on the job by not having the opportunity to sign a new player owing to the fact that the West London outfit have been handed a transfer ban that will stop them from registering any new player for the next two transfer windows.
Arsenal face competition for Kieran Tierney transfer deal
North London outfit Arsenal are reported to be facing major competition for the signature of Kieran Tierney in this summer transfer window.
It is claimed that Italian Serie A giants Napoli are also desperate to land the player who is opened to a move this term.
It has been reported by SunSport that the Serie A giants have already made inquiries about the availability of the £25million-rated Celtic left-back despite being aware of the interest from Arsenal.
The report adds that Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti is a big fan of the highly rated left-full back and will seek to work with him in the coming season.
Kieran Tierney has won eight major honors, including two Trebles, and has made over 150 club appearances, which adds to his quality in the Champions League and Europa League while also earning 12 Scotland caps.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery will not have to depend on Nacho Monreal as a result of his age and the injuries he has been battling with which makes the need for a new player a necessary option.
Kieran Tierney is a young player who has many years to impress while he has already gained a level of experience which would be helpful to the North London outfit if he is eventually captured.
Another Chelsea player leaves despite transfer ban
English Premier League outfit Chelsea have again lost another young goalkeeper Nathan Baxter as he would be leaving the club to join Scottish Premiership side Ross County on loan.
The 20-year-old spent the last term at Yeovil in League Two where he won all five of the club’s Player of the Season award. It was expected that he would be asked to return back to the Stamford Bridge so that he can continue his progress, but that will definitely not happen.
The West London outfit have decided that he would not be needed despite the transfer ban and would be allowed to continue his development with the Scottish outfit following their promotion into the Scottish top flight.
Chelsea have got Kepa Arrizabalaga to boast of as their first choice goalkeeper and other options which make the 20-year-old available for loan at the moment.
Chelsea have already made a policy following their transfer ban that most of their players will not be allowed to leave the club in this summer transfer window because they will not be replaced.
The Blues team have been sanctioned by the world football governing body for going against transfer rules, meaning that they will not be registering any player for the next two windows.
Arsenal handed major boost in pursuit of Torreira’s former teammate
North London outfit Arsenal now stand a better chance to land their star target and Sampdoria star Joachim Andersen in this summer transfer window.
The Gunners have been in the chase of the player for a number of months and they have now learned that he is open to leaving Sampdoria.
Joachim Andersen has opened the possibility of reuniting with his former teammate, Lucas Torreira at Arsenal after claiming that it is time for him to move ahead in his career.
While hailing the Italian club, their fans and the staffs, Joachim Andersen stated that he would wish to move on for a new challenge as he stressed that he has received a number of interests from top clubs in Europe which is already on his agent’s table.
Joachim Andersen added that it has been his dream to play in the biggest clubs in the world and it is already happening or him as he is being linked to a number of clubs.
It is now left to the Gunners to make a move for the star player if they must attain his signature this transfer window as other clubs are monitoring the situation and could submit a bid for his signature.
Man United target Joao Felix undergoing medicals at Atletico Madrid
Latest report has revealed that Man United target and Portuguese outfit Benfica starlet Joao Felix is currently undergoing medical with Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid ahead of a move.
Joao Felix has been on the radar for a number of clubs including Man United who are reportedly ready to bring him in this summer transfer window to form a part of the Solsjaer’s rebuilding of the team.
It has, therefore, been claimed that he could be announced as Atletico Madrid player any moment from now with the hope that the medicals would be successful.
The Portuguese starlet visited the club on Tuesday for a tour after he signed his official contract on Wednesday, according to the claims.
Joao Felix will now be with the Spanish side as from next season where he is expected to continue his progress and also win more titles to his name.
However, this remains a blow to the Red Devils as they will not be able to land their target, giving manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer more work to do in getting a quality team together.
Joao Felix will be a big miss for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer because he is young and fits the quality needed at Old Trafford.
John Terry takes major step after losing Chelsea job
West London outfit Chelsea legend John Terry is supposedly ruled out of the job as the Blues manager and he will move ahead by staying put as Aston Villa’s assistant head coach.
The Chelsea legend committed himself by signing a contract extension at the club until 2021 after losing out of the race for Chelsea job.
He was reportedly in line to take the job at the Stamford Bridge, but he is not favoured for the role as Frank Lampard could be announced as the new manager in coming days.
John Terry has been hailed by his superior, Smith for extending his current deal with the club, stressing that it has been a pleasure working with the former Chelsea defender.
According to the head coach, he has been able to have a successful coaching career with Aston Villa, alongside Richard O’Kelly and Neil Cutler as a result of the input by John Terry.
He, therefore, predicted a bright future for the legendary defender in the coaching career as they hope to continue their progress ahead of the coming season.
However, once Frank Lampard is announced the new manager, he will take charge immediately in order to help the team win titles, and most importantly, finishing in the top-four.
Finally, Man United target to be rewarded with a new deal
English Premier League outfit West Ham United are set to hand a new deal to their star player, Issa Diop amidst speculations linking him out of the club.
The Red Devils had indicated interest in landing the star player but he had already informed them that he would not be leaving his club.
It is now claimed that West Ham United are set to open talks with the star player in other to reward him with his commitment and his impressive performance which caught the attention of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as they seek to bring him to the Old Trafford.
Issa Diop told the Red Devils that he is happy at West Ham United after signing a five-year contract last summer when he joined from Toulouse for £22million.
The new deal for Issa Diop will, therefore, mean a bigger weekly wage as he would be rewarded for wanting to remain at the club.
It is understood that Man United have already moved on and have begun the search for another option as they hope to engage in this summer window to rebuild the team ahead of the coming season.
However, the Red Devils have already secured the signature of Daniel James from Swansea.
Arsenal target another Ramsey replacement
North London outfit Arsenal are still battling to find a replacement for Wales international Aaron Ramsey who has already left the club to join Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
The Gunners are therefore considering a bid for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, as revealed by Mike McGrath, a football writer.
Dominik Szoboszlai is just 18 years old, but he has been impressive enough to catch the attention of a number of clubs with Juventus and Lazio keen on him.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has joined the race for the youngster and it is hoped that he would be able to beat the competition by giving the young lad the promise of a first-team football.
Although it has been noted that Red Bull Salzburg are not ready to let go of their prized asset, they might let him leave if they have the sum of £15 million on the table for him.
The 18-year-old still has a running contract with Red Bull Salzburg until the next three years which makes the club in no rush to let him leave this summer window.
However, Arsenal are yet to confirm any deal but it would be hoped that the young star will be the first signing of the summer.
