Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele is a big doubt for the Catalan giants ahead of their Champions League last 16 second-leg clash with French Ligue 1 club Lyon.
Dembele suffered a strain in his left hamstring during Barcelona’s win over Rayo Vallecano in their Spanish La Liga clash on Saturday night.
His injury status was confirmed via a statement from Barcelona.
Dembele had come on as a second-half substitute for Arthur during the Catalan giants’ 3-1 win over Rayo Vallecano.
The 21-year-old has been enjoying the best spell of his Barcelona career after struggling in the early stages thus leading to transfer rumours about a move to Premier League sides like Arsenal.
North London giants Arsenal were linked with a loan transfer for the player towards the end of last year.
Barcelona had been level with lowly Rayo Vallecano when Dembele was introduced into the game and the French World Cup winner played a part to help the Catalans score two second-half goals thus leading to a 3-1 win.
Rayo Vallecano took a shock lead in the 24th minute before Gerard Pique restored parity for Barcelona just before halftime.
Lionel Messi (penalty) and Luis Suarez then scored in the second half to give Barcelona victory.
