New Bayern Munich signing Benjamin Pavard has revealed that he wants France teammate Lucas Hernandez to join him at the Allianz Arena at the end of this season.
Lucas Hernandez plays his club football for Spanish La Liga club Atletico Madrid at the moment but he has been severely linked with a move to Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
The French international has a release clause of €80m in his current deal at Atletico Madrid.
The 23-year-old has an Atletico Madrid contract that does not expire until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Lucas Hernandez has been touted as a possible transfer addition for Manchester United who are in need of defensive reinforcements in the summer.
He can play as a left-back, as a right-back or as a central defender.
Benjamin Pavard, 22, will join German champions Bayern Munich in the summer after the Bavarian giants agree on a €35m transfer fee for him.
The French defender told German newspaper SportBild that he would like to see Lucas Hernandez play for Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich officials have already talked up the idea of signing Lucas Hernandez in a deal that would potentially be a club record ahead of the €41m paid for midfielder Corentin Tolisso.
Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard played left-back and right-back respectively for France as they won last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
