Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan want to offer unsettled striker Mauro Icardi a contract extension according to the report from the Italian media.
Italian news portal Corriere dello Sport claim that Inter Milan are ready to offer the Argentine international player a new contract that will ward off the interest of major European clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United.
It was revealed that Inter Milan are not prepared to cut their losses on Icardi whose contract does not expire until the end of the 2020/21 season.
Inter Milan want to offer Mauro Icardi a new contract worth €6.5m on an annual basis but the player is holding out for €10m annually.
Mauro Icardi and his agent/wife are yet to make a counteroffer.
The 25-year-old could leave Inter Milan this summer with Manchester United one of the clubs interested in him especially if Red Devils striker Romelu Lukaku is sold.
Recent reports claim that Manchester United have already contacted his representatives over a possible move.
Mauro Icardi has made the headlines for the better part of the last one week after he was removed from his position as the Inter Milan captain and that has prompted transfer rumours of an exit from Inter Milan.
