Italian Serie A club Inter Milan have reportedly made a U-turn on the future of winger Ivan Perisic who came close to joining Arsenal during the recently concluded winter transfer window.
Italian transfer news portal Calciomercato claim that the Nerazzurri have changed their mind on Perisic and that they want to keep the Croatian international player at the club.
Perisic was part of the Croatia squad that surprised many by reaching the final of the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
Croatia were beaten 4-2 by eventual winners France though Ivan Perisic scored one of the goals for his team alongside Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.
He has not been able to replicate that World Cup form for Inter Milan since he returned to the club from that tournament last summer.
Perisic handed in a transfer request last month in a bid to force through a move to Arsenal but the transfer didn’t happen.
The 30-year-old has been reintegrated back into the Inter Milan squad.
Arsenal were willing to sanction a loan move for him with the option of a permanent transfer at the end of the proposed loan spell but Inter Milan only wanted to do a deal for him permanently and nothing less.
