Arsenal manager Unai Emery has demanded consistency from his players as they prepare to face relegation battlers Southampton in their Premier League clash on Sunday.
In his pre-match thoughts ahead of the game, Unai Emery revealed that consistency is key in their quest for a top-four finish at the end of this Premier League campaign.
The former Almeria and Valencia boss also pointed out that Premier League is the priority for him and his players at the expense of the Europa League.
Arsenal progressed into the last 16 of the Europa League on Thursday after a 3-1 aggregate win over Belarusian club BATE Borisov made possible by the 3-0 thrashing of their opponents in the second leg.
The Gunners will now face French club Rennes for a place in the quarterfinals of the competition after they stunned Spanish La Liga side Real Betis in the last round.
Arsenal have struggled for consistency since their unbeaten run ended in the reverse fixture with Southampton.
The Gunners started the season with two successive defeats in what is Unai Emery’s first season as an Arsenal manager.
Those two defeats were followed by a 22-match unbeaten run stopped by the Saints.
Arsenal have lost seven of their 15 games since then including elimination from the domestic cup competitions.
