Embattled West London outfit manager Maurizio Sarri is reportedly linked with a return to the Italian Serie A with AS Roma claimed to be keen to land him ahead of the coming season.

This is as it is claimed that the Italian boss could be sacked in coming days following his inability to deliver good results at the Stamford Bridge with the latest being the 2-0 defeat against Man United in the FA Cup.

However, it is reported that AS Roma have already contacted the Chelsea boss to have a standby agreement pending when he would be signed by the club but it was not reported if he has already accepted the offer.

It would be recalled that a report had emerged claiming that the Chelsea chiefs were only talks on the what decision to take on the future of the former Napoli boss and it has been revealed that he has been given the next two games as an ultimatum.

Suggestions are that Maurizio Sarri will not hesitate to pick up the job at AS Roma as he has already had an experience of the Italian Serie A league having worked at Napoli as his last job in his country home.
