Former Arsenal player Olivier Giroud is reportedly on a three-man striker shortlist at Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves have done well this season with the newly promoted side in the top half of the table at the expense of more illustrious teams in the Premier League.

The Midlands club has been over-reliant on-loan Mexican striker Raul Jimenez who has been in very good form for the team managed by former goalkeeper Nuno Espirito Santo.

Wolves are in the market for a new striker and journalist Tim Nash has disclosed that they have drawn up a three-man striker shortlist including Olivier Giroud.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is joined on the list by Liverpool striker Divock Origi and Southampton attacker Charlie Austin.

Giroud shared striking duties with Alvaro Morata but his playing time could be reduced further with the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentine international has signed for Chelsea on loan for the remainder of the season, while Morata has joined Spanish La Liga club Atletico Madrid on an 18-month loan deal until the end of the next campaign.

Gonzalo Higuain made his debut for Chelsea during Sunday’s FA Cup third-round win over Championship club Sheffield Wednesday before he was replaced by Giroud in the last ten minutes of the game.
