Seven-time European champions AC Milan have reportedly reached an agreement to sign one of the defensive transfer targets for Premier League giants Manchester United.
Experienced Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that the Rossoneri have agreed on a deal to sign young Portuguese Tiago Djalo ahead of other major European heavyweights.
Tiago Djalo is of Guinea Bissau descent and he plays his club football for the Sporting Lisbon B team at the moment.
The 18-year-old has been in good form for the Portuguese Super League giants and it’s not surprising that he’s attracting the attention of the best clubs on the European football scene.
His next destination will be AC Milan after the Italians won the race to sign him ahead of Manchester United, Juventus and Manchester City.
Manchester United have battled with defensive problems since the start of the season and Tiago Djalo would have been a possible long-term solution to the aforementioned issues if the Red Devils had won the race to sign him.
The Red Devils have conceded a whopping 33 goals in just 23 Premier League games this term in addition to four clean sheets all season.
Manchester United have one of the worst defensive records in the top half of the Premier League table.
