Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has debunked loan exit rumours surrounding one of his midfielders in this January transfer window.

Red Devils midfielder Scott McTominay has been heavily linked with a transfer away from the club this month.

The 22-year-old has been touted as a loan transfer acquisition for several Scottish Premiership and English Championship sides.

Ex-Red Devils striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dismissed the loan transfer rumours during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League clash with Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

Solskjaer said that he does not expect Scott McTominay to leave the club on loan in the current January transfer window.

McTominay has featured just once under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since the Norwegian was named the interim manager at Manchester United.

He played for the Red Devils during the 2-0 defeat handed out to English Championship side Reading in the third round of the FA Cup.

Manchester United have been a different outfit from the one under Jose Mourinho since Solskjaer took over.

They have won their last six games in all competitions with the latest victory coming in the Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening.

Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game to hand his side a 1-0 away win over Spurs.
