If report emanating from Anfield via Sky Sports is something to trust, Liverpool could complete their first signing at the ongoing January window.

The highly regarded media channel claim that Jurgen Klopp has identified Red Bull Salzburg striker Moanes Dabour as the player to occupy Solanke’s position in the team.

The German manager allowed Dominic Solanke to complete his move to Bournemouth after receiving £18m from the Cherries a week ago and that created a vacuum in the team’s attacking setup.

Sky Sports revealed the former Borussia Dortmund manager is closer to reaching a €25m / £22m agreement with RB Salzburg for the 26-year-old striker.

In the same vein, another media outlet Transfer Market Web suggest that the Israeli international is willing to join the Reds this month and he’s pushing for a switch to Anfield before the transaction period comes to a close.

Meanwhile, The Austrian side are yet to place a price tag on the striker as they aren’t thinking of letting him go so soon.

Transfer Market Web further revealed that Championship side Leeds United, Premier League side Fulham, and La Liga’s Valencia are all in contention for Dabour’s signature. Nonetheless, the Reds are leading the park for his services and a deal could be sealed with Salzburg this week.

Dabour has played 66 matches for Salzburg since his move from Grasshopper Club in 2016-17 season He has scored 33 goals in all competitions.

This season has seen him scored nine goals from 19 games and that has endeared him to the Merseyside club and other suitors listed above.
