Three-time European champions Manchester United have emerged as favourites to sign one of the star players from one of their rivals for a top four spot at the end of this season.
According to popular English media outlet The Sun, the Red Devils want to take advantage of the current contract standoff between Christian Eriksen and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Red Devils have been installed as favourites to sign the Danish international playmaker.
Christian Eriksen was recently part of the Denmark squad that reached the first knockout stage at last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
The Danish team exited the tournament via a penalty shootout defeat to eventual finalists Croatia in their last 16 clashes.
Eriksen has been a key player for Tottenham Hotspur since he joined the club from Dutch Eredivisie giants.
His current Spurs deal expires at the end of next season and the North London giants have not made a breakthrough in contract talks with the player.
Tottenham want to offer him a long-term deal worth £150,000 on a weekly basis to take him to the same level as Dele Alli.
Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid are also said to be interested in signing the Tottenham Hotspur star.
