Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solakjaer is scheduled to meet with chief executive Ed Woodward to talk about the possible transfer of an Italian Serie A defender.
According to The Sun, the former Red Devils striker will meet with Ed Woodward to discuss the potential signing of Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.
The Serbian international right-back has impressed for Fiorentina a great deal in his two seasons at the Italian club.
His Fiorentina form has attracted the interests of several European sides including three-time European champions Manchester United.
It’s no longer news that the Red Devils want to improve their squad on the defensive front and Nikola Milenkovic is on the shortlist.
It was revealed that Norwegian tactician Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified him as one who could improve his team defensively.
Milenkovic is rated at around £45m and it remains to be seen whether Ed Woodward will be keen to spend that amount of money on just one player in the middle of the season.
The Serbian defender would certainly be an upgrade on the current right-back options at Old Trafford.
The present right-back options at Manchester United include Diogo Dalot, Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia.
Only young Portuguese defender Dalot has a long-term contract at the club.
