Manchester United are in talks to sign one of the brightest young prospects in English football if reports emanating from the British media are anything to go by.
Popular transfer news portal Caughtoffside claim that the Reds Devils are planning a £70m transfer for Leicester City midfielder James Maddison.
It was revealed that the transfer is at the request of Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino who’s the bookmakers’ favourite to become the permanent manager at Manchester United.
The Red Devils dismissed their last permanent manager Jose Mourinho after a disastrous start to this season and he was subsequently replaced by former club striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Norwegian tactician Solskjaer has been appointed the Red Devils manager until the end of the season.
Various media reports claim that Argentine Mauricio Pochettino has been lined up to take over at Old Trafford this summer.
It’s believed that the James Maddison transfer is the handiwork of the aforementioned Pochettino.
James Maddison has been an instant hit for Leicester City since he joined the club in a £24m deal at the start of the season.
The 22-year-old joined the Foxes from English Championship side Norwich City last summer and has scored five times in addition to providing three assists in 19 Premier League games.
