Declan Rice

Manchester United have been dealt a transfer blow after defensive target Declan Rice signed a new long-term contract at his club.

Declan Rice is on the books of Premier League side West Ham United.

The 19-year-old has signed a contract extension with the Hammers to put an end to speculations about his long-term future with West Ham United.

Declan Rice has put pen to paper on a new West Ham United contract until the end of the 2023/24 season.

The young Englishman was initially involved in a contract standoff with West Ham United after he demanded more money (weekly wages).

Several top six sides in the Premier League were interested in signing him but he has decided to stay with the Hammers.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United wanted to sign Declan Rice who can either play as a defensive midfielder or as a central defender.

Rice was formerly a Chelsea player before he was released by the West London club at the age of 14.

He joined West Ham United on a free transfer afterwards and went on to rise through the ranks at the Olympic Stadium before making his Hammers debut last season.

Declan Rice is a mainstay of the West Ham United team now.

English Premier League outfit Man United have been told to move in for Chelsea star N’Golo Kante in this summer transfer window.

The advice was given by Tony Cascarino who claims that the France international could be forced out of Chelsea if a huge bid is submitted for his signature.

It is widely believed that the former Leicester City midfielder is unhappy at Stamford Bridge as he was forced away from his natural defensive role by manager Maurizio Sarri to favour Jorginho.

The speculation adds that N’Golo Kante was a shadow of himself as a result of the treatment by the former Napoli boss.

However, Man United have been told of the possibility of securing the signature of the World Cup winner if they are willing to pay big.

Tony Cascarino on Times column says the Red Devils are in need of quality players as well as a transformation of mentality.

He stressed that many of the players act like they do Man United a favour for playing at Old Trafford and that is not a good mentality going forward.

Meanwhile, manager Ole Gunnar Solskajer has made it clear that he would be flushing some players out of the club as they have not shown commitment to playing for the club

paul pogba

It has been suggested that France international Paul Pogba is no longer confident of landing his dream move to Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid in this summer transfer window.

It is no longer a secret that Paul Pogba wants to leave Man United to be with Real Madrid after claiming that he wishes to play under manager Zinedine Zidane.

The French boss has also made him a top target but there have been itches over negotiations between the two parties involved.

While the World Cup winner is demanding for an ambiguous weekly wage that Real Madrid are not willing to pay, the Spanish giants are also refusing to budge on their valuation of No.1 transfer target Paul Pogba.

This is reported to have placed the World Cup winner under undue pressure as there are fears that he will remain at Old Trafford if a deal fails to fall through.

However, the former club of the star midfielder Juventus remains another option as he is also being wanted at the club for a return.

Juventus are keen to work with the star player as new manager Maurizio Sarri made it clear that he succeeded at the West London outfit with Eden Hazard; he can also succeed at Juventus with Paul Pogba.

Frank Lampard

It is no longer secret that Chelsea will be given their former player Frank Lampard the mandate to lead the team after Italian boss Maurizio Sarri left the club to join Italian Serie A outfit Juventus.

Maurizio Sarri only joined Chelsea last summer transfer window but he can no longer wait as he had a rough year with the Blues fans and the owner.

Frank Lampard has been tipped as favourite among other candidates and there are claims that he has already met with the club owner Roman Abramovich.

While there is yet to be an official claim from either of the parties, sources in Italy are saying that the deal to make Frank Lampard the Chelsea manager is done.

Nicolo Schira from the Gazzetta also added that Frank Lampard will be signing a three-year deal with the club as he already has the backing of the billionaire owner.

However, Frank Lampard is expected to be joined by other former players as backroom staff and technical director.

Names mentioned are Didier Drogba, Petr Cech and Makalele to fill other vacant positions at the West Londo outfit.

The Frank Lampard era is expected to begin as early as possible if the words of the club owner is to be believed.

Matthijs de Ligt

Merseyside outfit Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been told that he needs to reinforce his defence but Dutch international and Ajax Central defender Matthijs de Ligt should not be the focus.

Matthijs de Ligt has been on the wish list of a number of top clubs and the Reds team are not left out of it as he appears to be the focus for the German boss.

A former Liverpool striker John Aldridge is of the opinion that the focus for the former Borussia Dortmund boss should be investing in a new left-back as an option for Andy Robertson.

It seems confirmed that Liverpool will be parting ways with Alberto Moreno which makes Andy Robertson the only viable option for the position. It could be risky to have just him alone without a replacement.

The former striker argues that there may be a need to bring in Matthijs de Ligt to pair with Virgil Van Dijk in the defence but he is already being priced out by the huge demands from his camp.

He stressed that Jurgen Klopp must focus on the left-back to provide an option for Robertson, adding that a long-term injury for the player could cast spell to Liverpool’s season if not well handled.

English Premier League outfit Man United have been desperate to land the signature of Ajax central defender Matthijs de Ligt in this summer transfer window but there is yet to be a positive report about a possible deal in coming days.

There has been a lot of competition for Matthijs de Ligt in this summer window with the likes of Liverpool, PSG and Barcelona also keen him.

While all cubs are willing and able to meet with his asking price, Matthijs de Ligt has come out to claim that he will only make a decision after the Nations League, a decision the Red Devils also await.

However, the Holland legend Ruud Gullit has told the Red Devils to forget about signing Matthijs de Ligt because of their failure to qualify to the Champions League next season.

Meanwhile, Barcelona were earlier reported to be favourites for the Ajax defender but they seem to have dumped their interest in the star player after the capture of his teammate, Frenkie de Jong.

From every indication, Liverpool and PSG are favourites to land the star player and it is feared that the French Ligue 1 giants will win the race should Liverpool fail to act on it

Harry Maguire

Three-time European champions Manchester United are in the transfer market for a new quality centre back but the Red Devils have so far been frustrated in the bid to meet their target.

Leicester City Harry Maguire is a top defensive target for Manchester United alongside the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and Issa Diop.

Kalidou Koulibaly plays his club football for Italian Serie A giants Napoli at the moment, while Issa Diop plays his club football for fellow Premier League club West Ham United.

Manchester United tried to sign Harry Maguire last summer shortly after the former Hull City and Sheffield United defender impressed for the Three Lions of England at the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

The Red Devils were unable to sign him because of the £60m-70m asking price slapped on him.

Manchester United are back for him this summer but Leicester City have increased the asking price to £80m.

According to ESPN, Manchester United are still £40m short of the Leicester City valuation for Harry Maguire.

The England international has enjoyed a meteoric rise in English football since his move to Leicester City two years ago.

He joined the Foxes from relegated Hull City for a fee of around £17m, including add-ons, in the summer of 2017.

Adrien Rabiot

Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Adrien Rabiot has reportedly agreed on a deal to join Italian champions Juventus this summer.

This is according to media outlet El Chiringuito which claimed that the young French international midfielder has agreed to join the Old Lady on a free transfer.

It was revealed that Adrien Rabiot has agreed on a five-year contract with the Italian champions and he will link up with his new team when his PSG contract ends in a few days’ time.

Adrien Rabiot has previously been linked with Arsenal and club manager Unai Emery is keen to reunite with him this summer, but it seems the Spanish tactician will need to look elsewhere in the quest to sign a replacement for Welsh international midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

Unai Emery worked with Adrien Rabiot for two years while he was the PSG manager between 2016 and 2018.

The former Sevilla and Valencia manager is looking to sign a new midfielder this summer following the exit of Aaron Ramsey who has left Arsenal after the expiration of his contract.

Aaron Ramsey left the Gunners after a decade as an Arsenal player.

The 28-year-old has signed a four-year free transfer deal with Juventus where he will most likely link up with Adrien Rabiot if the PSG midfielder completes his transfer to Juventus.

It is now unsure if Sporting Lisbon will accept the sum of £40 million after reports have claimed that they insist on a £60 million to land the Portuguese international.

While an official reply to the bid is being awaited, it is expected that manager Jurgen Klopp will make another move for the star player by improving their offer so that they can land him ahead of other suitors.

So far, Liverpool is the most attractive side among the teams being linked with to the Sporting Lisbon man because of their status as the Champions League defending champions and their success in the last two years.
