Manchester United midfielder Fred has made a decision on his long-term future at the club.

According to his agent Gilberto Silva via the Daily Star, the Brazilian international player is ready to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place in the Manchester United team.

Gilberto Silva is a former Arsenal player who was part of the famed Invincibles that went throughout the 2003/04 Premier League season without a single defeat.

He was reacting to recent reports which claimed that Fred is keen to secure a transfer out of Manchester United following a lack of game time.

Fred signed for Manchester United from Ukrainian champions Shakthar Donetsk in the summer.

The Red Devils were said to have splashed the sum of £52m on the player who signed a five-year contract until the end of the 2022/23 season.

He has failed to impress in the colours of Manchester United and that led to talks of a move away from the club.

Fred has been on the fringes of the Manchester United team under the sacked Jose Mourinho in the last two months.

He has lost his place in the Brazil squad as a result of his inactivity at Manchester United.

Fred has scored just once for Manchester United this season and that was earlier in the season during the Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford.
