Chelsea have gained a big advantage over London rivals Arsenal in the race to sign highly rated AS Roma winger Cengiz Under.

This is according to the publication from football.london.

It was revealed that the interest of Italian Serie A giants AS Roma in Chelsea loanee Michy Batshuayi could be a major factor for the Blues to make a breakthrough in their pursuit of the aforementioned Under ahead of the Gunners.

Belgian international attacker Batshuayi is reportedly on his way out of Spanish side Valencia after the club decided to terminate the season-long loan deal he signed in the summer at the halfway stage.

Roma want to take the 25-year-old on loan once his Valencia contract has been terminated and that could play a big part in the Cengiz Under deal just like in the summer when Real Madrid and Chelsea were involved in a swap deal involving Thibaut Courtois and Mateo Kovacic.

Cengiz Under has also been linked with German champions Bayern Munich after his impressive Roma form since he joined from Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir at the start of last season.

Bayern see the 21-year-old as the long-term successor to Dutch winger Arjen Robben who has already confirmed his imminent exit at the end of the season.

Under favours a move to the Premier League thus making Chelsea and Arsenal favourites.

The Turkish international star is valued at around €50m (£45m) by his club.
