North London side Tottenham are reportedly swooping in for Liverpool versatile midfielder Marko Grujic ahead of the winter transfer window which reopens in coming weeks.
The Mauricio Pochettino side are short of central midfielders in the team especially with the contract of Mousa Dembele which is set to run out at the end of the season and Victor Wanyama pushing himself closer to the exit door.
It is no longer news that the London club failed to participate in the last summer transfer window owing to the expensive stadium project they embarked upon but with the completion, they are set to compete in the winter transfer market.
Suggestions are that Mauricio Pochettino has been able to win the heart of the club’s management for competing at this level without any summer transfer activity; hence he is to be given all the support to add to his team in January.
However, Marko Grujic who joined the Merseyside club in 2016 from Red Star Belgrade has only had 14 appearances under his belt at the Anfield which makes him sit on the bench in most number of games.
With his inability to break into the first team, the Reds could just part ways with the 22-year-old with a fee £4.5 million.
