Arsenal have held talks with the agent of TSG Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch according to the reports emanating from the German media.
Popular German news outlet Bild via thehardtackle revealed that his agent was in London to hold talks with both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Gunners’ North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in the Austrian player.
The 23-year-old has been a regular fixture in the TSG Hoffenheim squad since he joined the club from fellow German side Werder Bremen on a free transfer in 2017.
He had earlier signed for Werder Bremen from Austrian side St. Polten in 2013.
Florian Grillitsch broke into the Werder Bremen team and went on to make 54 appearances for the club.
Arsenal are said to be in the market for midfield reinforcements as there are doubts over the future of midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Mohamed ElNeny.
Ramsey has just six months left on his current contract at Arsenal and he has been linked with several clubs on the European football stage.
Arsenal have already told the Welshman that he won’t be offered a new contract.
Egyptian midfielder Mohamed ENeny is said to be surplus to requirements at the club after falling out of favour with Arsenal manager Unai Emery.
