Controversial British media expert and popular Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has called on the club to sign two quality centre-backs in the wake of the surprising loss to Southampton in their Premier League clash at the St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday evening.

Piers Morgan took to his official Twitter handle to react to the surprising 3-2 loss which ended the Gunners’ 22-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

It was their first defeat for four months in all competitions since the 3-2 defeat at the hands of London rivals Chelsea in August.

According to Piers Morgan, the Arsenal defence was in shambles and the board must act by reinforcing the squad with two quality centre-backs.

The Gunners are in the middle of a defensive crisis following the injuries to Rob Holding, Sead Kolasinac and Shkrodan Mustafi while right-back Hector Bellerin also got injured in the first half of the game against the Saints.

Young English centre-back Holding has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury but Kolasinac and Mustafi are expected to return to the Arsenal team this week.

2014 World Cup winner Mustafi is nursing a hamstring injury but he was suspended for the Southampton game alongside defensive partner Sokratis Papasthathopoulos.
