Struggling Premier League side Fulham are eyeing a move for experienced Chelsea defender Gary Cahill ahead of the January transfer window.
Fulham are the bottom team in the Premier League and the London club is desperate to escape the dreaded relegation at the end of the season. To this effect, they are ready to sign quality players in the New Year in a bid to meet their target of surviving the drop.
The Cottagers had earlier sacked manager Slavisa Jokanovic last month and he was swiftly replaced by Claudio Ranieri who is keen to improve the West London giants’ defensive solidity in the Premier League.
Latest reports coming out of the British media claim that Claudio Ranieri want to sign Gary Cahill to improve his defence.
Fulham are yet to keep a clean sheet in the league this season.
Gary Cahill would undoubtedly add defensive steel to the Fulham backline if the Cottagers can secure his transfer from West London rivals Chelsea.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has already told the retired England international centre back that he can leave the club in search of first team opportunities with just six months left on his current Chelsea contract.
The 32-year-old defender has also been linked with Arsenal, AC Milan and Manchester United.
