Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a £10m move for a Spanish La Liga player ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window scheduled to start in the next few weeks.
This is according to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser via sportsmole.
It was revealed that the Gunners have been impressed with the performances of Real Valladolid defender Fernando Calero in the Spanish top flight this season and are ready to make a move for him when the transfer window opens.
The 23-year-old centre-back has impressed a great deal for newly promoted Spanish La Liga side Real Valladolid this season.
The Spaniard has a £10m release clause in his current Real Valladolid contract and he represents a cheap option for the Gunners in their quest to offset the loss of Rob Holding to injury.
Rob Holding suffered a serious knee injury during the Premier League clash with rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
He sustained the injury during a collision with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and he will be out of action for around six to nine months.
Since the injury to young English defender Rob Holding, Arsenal have been linked with several centre-backs including Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso.
