North London giants Arsenal are considering the idea of letting playmaker Mesut Ozil leave the club when the January transfer window reopens in few weeks time.

Gunners midfielder Ozil has missed the last five games with a back injury but that has not stopped the transfer talks about his future in North London.

The Daily Mail say that Arsenal are beginning to warm up to the idea of playing games without Ozil.

Mesut Ozil is currently on a weekly wage of £350,000 and senior Arsenal officials are happy to get his huge salary off the club’s wage bill.

Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan are interested in the 2014 World Cup winner and several reports claim that his representative is already in talks with the Nerazzurri over the possibility of a transfer in the New Year.

Arsenal could sell him for just £25m as long as they get his salary off the wage bill.

Mesut Ozil still has around two-and-a-half years left on his current contract with the Gunners.

He signed a three-year deal in February.

His influence on the Arsenal team has reduced drastically since Unai Emery became the manager in the summer.

The Spanish tactician has already dropped the recently retired German international midfielder for some games.
