Arsenal could be in the transfer market for a new midfielder as the Gunners prepare for life without Aaron Ramsey who’s said to be on his way out of North London.
The former Cardiff City playmaker has six months remaining on his Arsenal deal.
The Gunners have been linked with Barcelona loanee Andre Gomes as a potential replacement for the aforementioned Aaron Ramsey.
This is according to the publication from Footballtransfertavern.
Andre Gomes is on a season-long loan from Barcelona at Merseyside giants Everton.
The 25-year-old signed for the Toffees on the last day of this summer’s transfer market.
Andre Gomes has performed well for Everton since he recovered from the injury he sustained while he was at Barcelona.
The aforementioned report claims that Arsenal have been attracted to his quality and are ready to make a move for him.
The Portuguese international player believes that his level is better than Everton and he would gladly welcome a transfer to the Emirates Stadium.
Andre Gomes would almost be a like-for-like replacement for the wantaway Aaron Ramsey.
Ramsey is the Gunners’ longest serving player but the Arsenal hierarchy has decided not to offer him a new deal that would have extended his stay beyond next summer.
