Italian outfit AS Roma are making serious moves to keep Kostas Monolas at the club by offering him a new bumper deal so as to keep away interest from English Premier League outfit Chelsea.

Kostas Monolas has long been a subject of speculation away from his Italian side where he has been for the last four years and making over 180 appearances for the Italian club in all competitions.

He has been an asset to the club and losing him will be a big miss for the club having learnt of the Interest from the North London side.

The Blues are not alone in the bid for Kostas Monolas with reports that German outfit Bayern Munich, Italian side Juventus are also monitoring the Greece international central defender.

With a release clause in his current contract of about £31.5 million, it is believed that a whole number of suitors will be ready to meet the demands of the club having established that Kostas Monolas is worth the price.

However, Corriere Dello Sport reports that a new deal will be handed to the 27-year-old central defender which will also attract a new and improved pay and it is expected to reflect on his release clause as well.
