Manchester United have offered defender Ashley Young a contract extension in a bid to ward off the interest of Italian Serie A side AS Roma.
The Italians are interested in a move for the 33-year-old England international.
According to the report from The Sun, Manchester United have offered Ashley Young a one-year contract extension that will take him until the end of the 2019/20 season.
His current deal expires at the end of the season and an additional year will take it until 2020.
If the contract extension is still unsigned, Ashley Young can start to speak with foreign clubs as from the start of the New Year.
Ashley Young has been a wonderful servant for both club and country in the last one decade.
He was part of the England squad that finished in the fourth spot at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia though he hardly featured throughout the competition.
Young made his debut for the Three Lions of England against Austria in November 2016 and has scored seven goals in 39 caps for his country.
He would be a fantastic addition to the Roma team if the Italians can pull it off due to the fact that he can play as a winger, wing back or fullback.
