Manchester United are reportedly still keen on making a move for a rival player when the transfer window comes around in two months’ time.
According to the report from the Daily Express via readarsenal, the Red Devils have not cooled their interest in Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey and that Manchester United will make a move for him when the transfer window comes around in the New Year.
The Red Devils have been long-term admirers of the Welsh international star.
Arsenal beat Manchester United to his signature when he left Welsh side Cardiff City in the summer of 2008.
The Gunners were said to have paid just £4.8m to secure his transfer from the newly promoted Premier League side.
Ramsey has spent over a decade at the club and the playmaker is on the verge of leaving the club after Arsenal withdrew their contract offer to him despite the fact that he has less than a year remaining on his present Gunners deal.
His contract status means that Aaron Ramsey is free to talk to foreign clubs about a potential free transfer as from January.
Manchester United are one of the several clubs mooted as a possible transfer destination for him.
Other clubs like Juventus, AC Milan and Liverpool have also been mentioned.
