Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has ruled his side out of the Premier League title race.
The Portuguese tactician made his position known during the pre-match press conference ahead of the Red Devils’ away game against in-form South Coast club Bournemouth on Saturday.
According to the former Real Madrid and FC Porto boss, Manchester United can’t talk about the title race now due to the poor start to the season before adding that the immediate challenge is to get into the Premier League title race.
Mourinho and his Manchester United side endured a disastrous start to the new campaign after a run of three defeats in the first seven league games.
Those defeats led to questions over Mourinho’s ability to take the club forward but those doubts were quashed with his team’s return to form in the last three games in the Premier League.
Mourinho and his players have recorded seven points from the last three matches against Newcastle United, Chelsea and Everton.
The Red Devils came from two goals down to beat Newcastle 3-2 at home, before playing out a 2-2 away to Chelsea after recovering from a 1-0 deficit in the first half.
A second successive home win followed the Chelsea game via a 2-1 victory over Everton last weekend.
