Former Chelsea player Gianluca Vialli has spoken on the inclusion of Gianfranco Zola to his former side’s coaching crew as an assistant coach.

Manager Maurizio Sarri approved the appointment of the player as his assistant and it has been suggested that Zola is already making his impact in the team.

Vialli who spoke from Turin in Italy stated that Sarri was smart to have added Zola to his crew because it will be earlier to explain concepts and ideas because of his knowledge.

According to Vialli, the same method was adopted by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho when he was in Italy and also in charge at Chelsea.

He is of the opinion that in addition to his coaching knowledge, Zola will be in the best position to serve as a link between the team, the managing staff and the club.

Vialli argues that Zola has a good idea of the Stamford Bridge in addition to knowing everyone which is an added advantage to the new manager who recently joined from Napoli in the summer.

However, Chelsea are doing good at the moment are they are still unbeaten in the Premier with just 2 points behind league leaders Liverpool.

The Blues have also continued to record outstanding results in the Europa League.
