Highly rated Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos is nearing a comeback to the first team after he dropped a big injury update on his return.
Mavropanos, 20, has been out of the Arsenal squad since he sustained a groin problem last month.
The young defender took to his official Instagram handle to provide an update that he’ll be ‘back soon’ as he recovers from the injury.
Konstantinos Mavropanos is the first signing of the Sven Mslintat era at the club.
Mslintat is the Gunners’ chief scout who joined the club last year from German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.
The centre back was signed from Greek side PAS Giannina during the penultimate transfer window in January.
He went on to make his debut in the Gunners’ 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford in April.
Mavropanos is yet to feature for Arsenal under the new managerial dispensation of Spanish tactician Unai Emery.
The former Valencia and Sevilla boss started the new season with the centre back partnership of compatriot Sokratis Papasthathopoulos and German defender Shkrodan Mustafi at the expense of Mavropanos.
Without him in the first team, Arsenal have found form after winning the last 11 games in all competitions, including seven straight league victories.
