Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly in the frame to succeed Gennaro Gattuso as the manager of Italian Serie A giants AC Milan.
According to various reports in Italy, Wenger could be on the shortlist of managerial targets for AC Milan if the club decides to sack Gattuso after a less than impressive start to the season.
AC Milan are languishing in 12th position on the Italian Serie A table after just three wins from the first eight league games of this term.
According to a specific report from telelombardia via talksport, AC Milan see Arsene Wenger as a fantastic replacement for Gattuso if the former Rossoneri player is dismissed from his job.
The Frenchman celebrated his 69th birthday on Monday and the AC Milan job gives him the opportunity to reunite with Ivan Gazidis who’s expected to resume as the AC Milan CEO in December.
Gazidis occupies the same position at Arsenal and he’s expected to assume the same role with the seven-time European champions.
Wenger and Gazidis worked together at Arsenal for a decade.
The former AS Monaco boss recently talked about his potential return to management last week as he confirmed that he will return to the sidelines in the New Year.
