Leicester City have been boosted by the news that highly rated defender Ben Chilwell has put pen to paper on a new contract at the club to end transfer rumours linking him with a move to North London giants Arsenal.

The 21-year-old has been strongly linked with the Gunners for the last two transfer windows but the Leicester City Academy graduate has decided to stay with the Foxes after penning a new contract until the end of the 2023/24 season.

This is a big boost for Claude Puel’s side as they prepare to take on in-form Arsenal in a Premier League Matchday 9 clash scheduled for the Emirates Stadium on Monday night.

Ben Chilwell is having a fantastic season for both club and country and his contract extension is a reward for his hard work.

Since making his first team debut for Leicester City in 2015, Chilwell has been a key performer for the Foxes and his performances in the new campaign has led the club to the top ten in the Premier League.

He also made his debut for England in a 1-0 victory at home to Switzerland before featuring in both the UEFA Nations League (UNL) games against Croatia and Spain in the just concluded international break.

Ben Chilwell earned rave reviews for his role in the Three Lions’ stunning 3-2 over their hosts Spain.
